Most flights have one stop in Frankfurt to connect with the long haul flight with Air China, or sometimes in Munich for trips to Beijing with Lufthansa. The short-haul feeder flights are operated by Lufthansa with Airbus A320 family aircraft, featuring a standard European business class where the middle seat is kept empty.
Beijing, Shenzhen, and Chengdu are reachable with a single stop. For other destinations, a second stop within China (usually in Beijing) is required. This domestic flight may be in Air China’s business class or sometimes economy class.
The long-haul flights feature lie-flat seats and are operated on various aircraft:
- Air China Boeing 777 on
FRA - PEK
,MUC - PEK
andFRA - SZX
(lie-flat, 2-2-2) - Air China Airbus A330 on
FRA - TFU
(lie-flat, 2-2-2 – but may be angled-flat from April 2026!) - Lufthansa Airbus A350 on
MUC - PEK
(pre-Allegris, 2-2-2 configuration)
Until December 2025, citizens of 33 countries in Europe may enter China for 30 days without applying for a visa. It is currently unclear if this policy will be continued in 2026.
Search & Book
This deal does not have an expiration date, but a minimum stay of 6 days and a maximum stay of twelve months apply. Departures are available from November 2025 to July 2026.
You can find suitable dates using Google Flights. You can then book your tickets via Skyscanner, which often offers the cheapest prices through various online travel agencies (OTAs). However, booking on OTAs has its downsides.
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
Miles & Points
This ticket is issued in booking class P. Please note that for flights operated by Air China, this class is mapped to booking class R for mileage accrual. For a round trip from Oslo to Beijing via Frankfurt, you can expect the following earnings:

Information & Tips for China
China offers a wide range of sights, from historical landmarks like the Great Wall, the Terracotta Army, and the Forbidden City to modern cities like Shanghai and scenic areas such as Zhangjiajie and Guilin. The currency is the Chinese yuan (CNY), and mobile payments via apps like Alipay and WeChat Pay are widely used, though cash is still accepted. Prices vary—major cities can be moderate to expensive, while rural areas are generally more affordable. Weather conditions differ greatly by region, with cold winters in the north, hot, humid summers in the south, and a generally best travel period in spring or autumn.
China has a highly developed transport system, especially in urban and coastal areas. Most major cities have extensive metro networks that are cheap, efficient, and easy to navigate with English signage. For travel between cities, the high-speed rail network is one of the most advanced in the world, connecting even distant regions quickly and reliably. In rural or less-developed areas, transport options can be more limited and slower, but basic bus or train connections are usually available.
We’ve compared various eSIM providers, such as eSIM4Travel, RedteaGo, and Textr. To see which plan is best for your travel needs, and which network offers the best coverage, feel free to read our detailed guide:

I found one interesting thing. When I searched OSL-CAN route on Lufthansa’s website, the fare can be displayed and it’s around 16k NOK, which is a good deal. It contains 2 legs with CA (stopover in PEK). However when it comes to payment, it always shows error that the fare is no longer available. The LH customer service couldn’t resolve this issue too. I wonder if anyone on the forum could help.
On a specific date or generally?
Generally. I found this rate visible from Oct 2025 till Feb 2026 (I didn’t searched for later dates), with a layover around 12 days. However none of my selection could not go thorough to payment. Strange.
I’v often had issues booking special fare tickets on Chinese companies.
Trip.com always worked.
Update (2024): most Europeans will not need a visa for tourist visits up to 14 days.
How did you calculate these mileage numbers? Seems to me that in booking class P 11.258 miles should be obtained in most ff programs for this trip.
Sadly, most programs don’t give any miles for Lufthansa’s P class.
Does this offer also allow the usage of Air China’s limousine transfer in China?
Hi! According to Air China (http://www.airchina.com.cn/en/info/flight-experience/vip/entertainment/exclusive_transport_c4.shtml), the service is reserved for First or Business guests in booking classes F/A/C/D. It’s also a codeshare flight, sold as LH7321 (in the example trip). Based on these, I would say no, but in my opinion, it never hurts to ask.
